Mr Martin Veale

Born in Tredegar and raised in Ebbw Vale, Martin received a degree in accounting and an MSc in audit and management before starting his career in local government in south Wales. Martin is a qualified accountant and auditor, and has worked across local government, the NHS and Welsh Government, latterly as director of finance at Forestry Commission Wales.

He is currently a board member at Velindre University NHS Trust and at Sport Wales, and is a director of the Pen y Cymoedd Windfarm community fund. He sits on the standards committees at Merthyr Tydfil CBC and the Mid and West Wales Fire & Rescue Service Authority as well as several audit committees. Martin is also a governor at Coleg Gwent and at his daughter’s high school, and sits as a magistrate on the Mid Wales bench

He now lives in Pontypridd.
